Working with Adolescents/ Teenagers

The years between childhood and adult life are often difficult and for some even turbulent. Adolescents seek to claim their identity. It is an intense time when the child begins to formulate their own life plans and goals so that they may find independence.

Adolescence can also be a time of fun, exploration and creativity.

The Owl Company seeks to encourage healthy development during this period by assisting young people in finding their voice, expressing their feelings and concerns and setting future goals.

Through drama we offer youth a forum - an opportunity to be heard and to explore their own way of being in the world.

Our youth deserve support, encouragement and guidance in their endeavours to take their place confidently in society. They need to be inspired and motivated

The Owl Company Aims to:

  • Promote Enthusiasm, Energy and a Positive Approach to Life
  • Develop Skills in Verbal Communication
  • Encourage Effective Social Interaction and Healthy Relationships
  • Cultivate a Safe Learning Environment where students can share ideas and be open and creative – a skill that is essential in our changing society.

“The right kind of education, while encouraging the learning of a technique, should accomplish something which is of far greater importance; it should help man to experience the integrated process of life. It is this experiencing that will put capacity and technique in their right place. If one really has something to say, the very saying of it creates its own style; but learning a style without inward experience can only lead to superficiality.” (J. Krishnamurti)
