Whether the workshop is for adults, adolescents or children, the essence is the same, meaning the content is simply aligned to the age group of participants. Any workshop can be expanded or reduced in timeframe to suit specific brief or requirements. When working with younger children a workshop would be of a much shorter duration.
The duration of the workshops may be vary from one day to one week. A one-day workshop will give participants an introduction to creative expression and self-awareness. One-day workshops allow for further exploration and discovery. Two- day workshops give participants the opportunity to process content more fully within the group. One week workshops are more of a training experience and often culminate into a performance where participants are encouraged to celebrate their own creative expression and that of others.
In a school situation, a workshop may be conducted with each class from junior primary to upper primary, allowing 1 hour per class per day for a one week period.
“Imagination activates our psychological and transpersonal resources. First, by inventing possible worlds, the mind learns to transcend its own stereotypes. Second, when we use our imagination we are not bound to duties or stopped by obstacles - we are free to play. No longer weighed down by the real world, we can let chance and the unconscious do their part - above all, we can laugh. At the same time, inhibitions loosen up and the resources that everyday life perennially restricts, can reach full flower. In this way imagination becomes a way to freedom.” ~ (Piero Ferrucci - Inevitable Grace)
