Theories in isolation don’t usually work.
Treating one symptom of a problem doesn’t usually lead to a solution
Isolating one part of a food to give a cure or nourishment quite often creates another set of problems.
Theories depend on the right framework being in place to make them work.
Problems are usually manifold and need to be considered in their entirety.
Constituents of food compliment each other to produce balance.
We must look at something in its entirety to see its wholeness and therefore its potential. When education reaches out to the wholeness of individuals, it brings about balance.
There are many facets to one person. The more healthy experiences we give them - experiences that originate from understanding and acceptance, the more opportunities they will have to recognise their own wholeness and therefore reach their potential.
Self knowledge is vital; for a person’s actions, feeling, reasoning and thinking are dependent upon his/her idea of the Self. To have a balanced education, we need to adopt a different perspective – one that originates from an acceptance of the innate wholeness of each individual and encourages a deeper awareness of self.
When we begin a journey of self discovery we also seek answers to the fundamental questions of life – who we are, why are we, what it is we really want from life and what is important to us. There is also a need to express and understand our feelings and emotions – the nature of our being.
When we take away all the trappings of our existence, these are the questions that, at times of reflection, arise within us. What really sustains us – physically, emotionally, spiritually? There is in all of us a need to know, to have a deeper awareness of ourself, of others and life.
The Owl Company embraces creative expression as a means to facilitate self-discovery.
‘Creativity is the essence of life. It is boundless – it is the joyful surge which gives rise to creation. We are all, by the very nature of our existence, equally creative.
Creativity cannot be measured by external observation. It can only be known within us.
In our modern societies, much emphasis is placed upon productivity, achievement and outcome. The more attached we become to these goals, the more we risk limiting our creative potential and the joy of creation.
To reconnect with our creative essence, not simply by expression, but also through an exploration of the stillness within us from which it arises, is to discover joy, freedom, interconnectedness and compassionate understanding. For each individual to reach their full potential means to know the creative force from which they access their true power.’
It is on these 3 principles that our programmes are based.
The Owl Company is the name given to a series of workshops, retreats and programmes specifically structured to allow individuals to explore their own innate creative potential and the stillness within themselves.
The Owl Company aims to provide an opportunity for people of all ages and backgrounds to explore their own creativity and find acceptance, guidance and support for their own personal development.
